Annotation:

The paper describes effects of sodium alginate on the spontaneous and induced cytokine production (interleukin 2 and 6 and tumour necrosis factor‑α) by peripheral blood mononuclear cells of 16 healthy donors. As reported, the sodium alginate appears to have considerable concentration‑dependent cytokine‑induced action on interleukin 2 and weak action on interleukin 6 and tumour necrosis factor‑α.
