Near‑patient diagnostics of local immune homeostasis in oral mucosa

Annotation:

The author has examined 123 patients aged 25 to 85
years old undergone denture treatment. The impression smear cy‑
tology (phase contrast microscopy) and oral mucous bioptate cytol‑
ogy (immunohistochemistry) allowed to find out that the changing
cytological picture has closely correlated to the phenotypic profile
of cell‑mediated response that characterised the local homeostasis.
The author offers to apply the cytological screening for carrying out
near‑patient diagnosis of the immune status in the oral mucous
membrane in the impression area
