The paper describes examination of 115 dental patients
aged 20 to 60 years old: 50 patients with halitosis, 42 patients with
halitosis and chronic tonsillitis and 23 patients without complaints
of oral malodour. As reported, there is a correlation between gin‑
givitis, periodontitis, intensity of tongue plaque, and halitosis. Both
improper oral cavity hygiene and chronic tonsillitis are known to be
one of the predisposing causes of foul breath.
