Relationship between mouth hygiene and splint therapy in patients with bruxism

Annotation:

Myorelaxing mouth guards are considered to be one
of the comprehensive methods to treat patients with bruxism. This
notwithstanding, its presence may have influence on dental plaque.
This paper aims to determine levels of oral hygiene and microbial
contamination in patients with bruxism, and to assess efficiency of
ozone therapy in reducing the risk for dental caries. Thirty exami‑
nations confirm efficiency of tooth surface ozonisation with HealO‑
zone (KaVo) device to minimise the risk for dental caries in case of
splint therapy.
