Experience of physical rehabilitation of children after surgical treatment of scoliosis

Annotation:

Objective. Treatment and rehabilitation of patients with scoliosis is an extensive medical and social problem. With the advent of modern physical therapy equipment and the possibility of the use of physiotherapy in all stages of scoliotic damage widened.
Methods. It was conducted a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs depending on the timing of their application in the preoperative and postoperative treatment of scoliosis in 71 patients aged 10–17 years. We assessed the degree of severity of pain, postoperative wound state, static muscle endurance, postoperative complications.
Results. The most obvious decrease in the dynamics of the degree of pain, healing of the wound and static muscle endurance was observed in patients with preoperative preparation of physical factors, as well as the early onset of rehabilitation (1st–2nd postoperative day).
Conclusions. The use of complex rehabilitation programs is excessively important for the prevention of severe postoperative complications and successful physical and social adaptation of children with scoliosis.
