The study presents a theoretical analysis of the challenging problem relevant to medicine and clinical psychology – the formation of the compliance. We reviewed the trends of the modern society pointing to the necessity of abandoning the paternalistic model of doctor-patient relationship. The practical significance of this theoretical study is the need to find means to ensure the formation of compliance behavior and to reduce the loss of time and financial resources. t has been shown that the development of communicative competence of the physician will significantly increase the level of compliance behavior.
